Russian forces break through Ukrainian defenses in Zaporizhya

Egypt Daily News - Russian sources reported that the Russian army succeeded in penetrating the Ukrainian defenses in the Zaporizhzhya Province, while the Russian Ministry of Defense confirmed that its forces were continuing their advance in the Kharkiv Province.

In detail, the head of the "We are with Russia" movement, Vladimir Rogov, announced on Monday that the Russian army had penetrated the defenses of the Ukrainian forces and advanced up to 1.5 kilometers towards the city of Gulyaipolje in the Zaporizhya province.

Rogov confirmed that "the pace of fighting has intensified in the Bologo-Gulyaipoli sector on the contact line," according to what the Russian news website "Russia Today" reported. He added that the advance was made in the southeast of Gulyaipoli from the direction of Novoselovka and Marvopol despite the minefields.

Last Wednesday, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the control of two new towns in Kharkiv Province and the strategic town of Rabotina in Zaporizhya Province. In Moscow, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced yesterday, Sunday, that its forces were continuing to advance on the Kharkiv axis, noting that the Ukrainian army’s losses had reached about 1,860 soldiers on various axes during the last 24 hours.

The ministry said, in its daily report on Sunday, that units of the “North” group of forces continued to advance deep into the enemy’s defenses, and inflicted losses in lives and equipment on several Ukrainian brigades and “Foreign Legion” forces in Kharkiv Province.

Ukrainian drone causes damage to the Russian Slavyansk refinery

On the other hand, the Russian TASS news agency reported on Monday that a drone attack caused damage to the Slavyansk oil refinery in the Krasnodar region. Slavyansk has a private refinery with a production capacity of four million metric tons of oil annually, equivalent to about 80,000 barrels per day.

Ukrainian Army: We shot down 29 Russian drones

In Kiev, the Ukrainian Air Force said, in a statement on Monday, that it shot down all 29 drones launched by Russian forces in an attack during the night.

The governor of the Mykolaiv region, in the south of the country, said via the Telegram application that 16 drones were shot down over the region and that the debris damaged a private residence and caused a fire.

Ukrainian air defenses also shot down 3 drones over the Lviv region, west of the country, without local officials there reporting any damage. The attack also targeted the Odessa and Poltava regions with drones, in addition to attacking the Kharkiv region with an Iskander-M ballistic missile.

Dmytro Lykhovy, spokesman for the Ukrainian army, told national television on Monday that Ukrainian forces shot down all 90 drones launched by Russia over the past week.
