Madbouli: We will work with National Dialogue Coordinating Committee to work out agenda to implement first phase recommendations

Egyptian Gazette - Egyptian Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli stressed that work is going on with members of the Coordinating Committee of the National Dialogue to develop an executive agenda to implement the 135 recommendations that represent the outcome of the first phase of the National Dialogue, according to priorities agreed upon, indicating that the Coordinating Committee must intensify its meetings during the coming period to accomplish required task in this regard.

During a meeting Thursday with members of the Joint Coordination Committee for the National Dialogue, the prime minister confirmed that this is his second meeting with officials of the National Dialogue, with the aim of following up on the implementation of all outcome and recommendations.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the cabinet, National Dialogue’s officials, General Coordinator of the National Dialogue Diaa Rashwan, Head of the Technical Secretariat of the National Dialogue Mahmoud Fawzi and members of the Coordinating Committee.

The prime minister also referred to great interest in coordination with officials of the relevant ministries directly responsible for implementing these outputs, suggesting that each meeting be devoted to following up on the implementation of a specific axis of the recommendations, which contributes to activating these outputs on the ground.

During the meeting, the general coordinator of the national dialogue thanked the premier for his keenness on holding periodic meetings with the Coordination Committee to follow up on the implementation of the recommendations of the National Dialogue.

He also appreciated the interest of government members in attending the dialogue sessions in its second phase and achieving more communication, in implementation of the primer’s directives.

Rashwan presented a detailed explanation of the mechanisms for following up on the 135 recommendations that came out of the National Dialogue in its first phase. He also explained the details of what happened in the economic axis during the sessions of the second phase, indicating that a set of recommendations were being finalised, in preparation for presenting them to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.

In the same context, Rashawn said with regard to the recommendations being formulated, there are some recommendations on which the government has already taken decisions recently, including, for example, the formation of the Supreme Council of Taxes.
