22 Evacuated from Sadat Menoufia Hospital due to fire

Egypt Daily News – A fire occurred at Sadat Central Hospital in Menoufia, leading to the evacuation of 22 patients. Maj. Gen. Ibrahim Abu Laymoun, the governor of Menoufia, monitored the situation via live broadcast from the Unified National Network for Emergency and Public Safety, accompanied by key officials, including the Deputy Governor and General Secretaries.

Significantly, the fire, which originated in the hospital’s basement, was promptly controlled by civil protection services. The smoke prompted the evacuation of 12 patients from the nurseries and 10 intensive care patients, who were transferred to Hermel and Sadat Specialized Hospitals, respectively.

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health reported that no individuals, equipment, or property were harmed as a result of the incident and that all evacuated patients are in stable condition.

The governor emphasized the immediate and continuous response to the fire and coordinated efforts among health officials, emergency services, and security agencies to manage the situation effectively.

A detailed health status report on the evacuated patients was also ordered by the governor to ensure ongoing oversight of their well-being.
