Egypt Daily News – 4 American airstrikes target the Houthis positions in the Al-Kathib area of Al-Mina District, Al-Hodeidah Governorate, Yemen, on Thursday evening.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military announced that it intercepted a missile launched from Yemen before it entered Israeli airspace.
Earlier in the morning, the Israeli army had reported intercepting another missile fired from Yemen in the early hours of Thursday, amid escalating hostilities with the Houthis and threats from former U.S. President Donald Trump to punish Iran for supporting the Yemeni armed group. The Houthis have recently vowed to intensify their attacks in response to the U.S. campaign.
The 4 American airstrikes, which began on Saturday, are the largest U.S. military operation in the Middle East since Trump took office in January. The strikes were launched in retaliation for Houthi attacks on Red Sea shipping. According to Houthi sources, the U.S. strikes have killed at least 31 people.
On Monday, Trump warned that he would hold Iran responsible for any future Houthi attacks and cautioned of severe consequences.
Since the outbreak of war in Gaza in late 2023, the Houthis have carried out more than 100 attacks on shipping vessels. These assaults have disrupted global trade and forced the U.S. military to launch an expensive campaign to intercept missiles.
