Egypt Daily News – Israeli media reported that a revised proposal concerning a prisoner exchange deal with Hamas and halting the conflict in the Gaza Strip has been put forth by Israel, encompassing four significant new conditions. According to the newspaper “Israel Today,” these conditions include:

  1. Avoidance of Return of Fighters: Israel demands that armed resistance fighters currently in the southern part of Gaza will not be allowed to return to the northern region, and that any returnees will not be subject to searches.
  2. Military Presence: The proposal insists that the Israeli occupation army remains stationed in the Philadelphia corridor, which is a strategic area along the border with Egypt.
  3. War Resumption Guarantee: Israel seeks assurances that, should the initial phase of the agreement fail to transition into a second phase, it retains the right to resume military operations.
  4. List of Living Abductees: The final condition set by Israel is the requirement of receiving a list of names of the living hostages expected to be released ahead of time.

Additionally, it was reported that mediators involved in negotiations requested a gradual withdrawal, and an Israeli delegation proposed the establishment of an international mechanism aimed at preventing resistance fighters from returning to northern Gaza. Furthermore, Israel expressed a need for the redeployment of its forces within Gaza, allowing for swift access to respond to any untoward incidents.

Sources indicated that mediators were aware of the Israeli delegation’s proposals prior to the Rome meeting and communicated this information to American officials, suggesting a low likelihood of Hamas accepting the updated Israeli conditions.
