Egypt Daily News – In the early hours of Tuesday, 42 Palestinians were martyred in intense Israeli airstrikes targeting various areas across the Gaza Strip.
The Gaza Strip witnessed an unprecedented military escalation, with Israeli raids hitting residential homes, civilian facilities, tents, camps and properties belonging to municipalities and private companies.
The attacks included the complete demolition of homes, bombing tent sites that were declared “safe areas” and targeted strikes on heavy equipment and vital vehicles. There was also intense shelling and heavy gunfire, according to Russia Today.
In western Gaza City, six members of the Bakr family were killed in a direct strike on their home in Al-Shati refugee camp.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that Palestinians in the Gaza City endured a harsh night under continuous air raids and artillery shelling, which resulted in the destruction of residential buildings in the eastern part of the city.
In Rafah, Israeli forces continued the systematic demolition of residential homes. Airstrikes targeted and destroyed heavy machinery and essential municipal vehicles in Gaza City, Jabalia, and Khan Younis.
In Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Strip, a man was killed when his house in the Qizan Al-Najjar area was bombed. The death toll later rose to ten with nine more people killed and others injured in a strike on a residential building near Al-Sikka roundabout in the city center.
Other areas across the Strip, including Al-Nuseirat Camp, Abasan Al-Kabira, and Al-Bureij, were subjected to intense gunfire and heavy artillery shelling by Israeli forces.
Israeli military vehicles continued to advance southwest of the Qizan Rashwan area in southern Khan Younis under heavy fire.
The Civil Defense confirmed that its teams are working to recover victims from beneath the rubble. They retrieved two bodies and six injured individuals from a house targeted near the Ahmad Abdul Aziz School in Khan Younis, and the search for missing persons is ongoing.
Meanwhile, a large fire broke out in a warehouse belonging to the Jabalia Al-Nazla municipality in the north of the Strip, and a nearby house was also damaged by the shelling.
