Egypt Daily News – Around 80,000 worshippers performed the Isha and Taraweeh prayers on the third night of the holy month of Ramadan at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, while Israeli occupation forces stormed the mosque’s courtyards and arrested three worshippers whose identities remain unknown.
According to the Islamic Waqf Department in occupied Jerusalem—cited by the Palestinian News Agency “Wafa”—more than 80,000 worshippers gathered for prayers at Al-Aqsa, the majority of whom were residents of Jerusalem and territories from within the 1948 borders. This was despite the strict military restrictions imposed by Israeli authorities, which prevent thousands of Palestinians from the West Bank from reaching the mosque to pray.
Israeli police deployed additional forces in occupied Jerusalem and around Al-Aqsa Mosque at the beginning of Ramadan to obstruct and restrict worshippers’ access to the site.
Meanwhile, three Palestinians were injured by Israeli gunfire in the town of Shuqba, west of Ramallah, during an Israeli military raid on Monday evening.
Local sources reported that Israeli forces shot 17-year-old Abdul Rahman Thabet in the abdomen, and he was transferred to the Istishari Hospital in Ramallah for treatment. Later, the Palestinian Red Crescent confirmed that two more Palestinians, whose identities remain unknown, were also wounded by live ammunition.
The sources added that no clashes had erupted in the village before the Israeli forces carried out a provocative raid during Iftar time, opening fire on residents and physically assaulting some of them.
