Egypt Daily News – More than seven months after her disappearance, German authorities on Sunday accidentally found the body of 35-year-old Iman Mohamed Hassan while searching for a lost child in the forest near her home in Bad Aibling, southern Bavaria.

Police dogs began digging and unexpectedly uncovered human remains. Authorities arrested the husband and accused him of murdering his wife. The couple’s children were placed in a care facility in Germany. Meanwhile, the victim’s family in Egypt appealed to German authorities and relevant bodies to take custody of the three children, but their requests were denied, as the children hold German citizenship.

The crisis began in November of last year when Iman went missing. Her sister broke the silence and turned to social media pages for Egyptians living in Germany to seek help. She stated that the family’s last contact with Iman was about a month before her disappearance and that they were unable to reach her afterward. Her social media accounts had also gone inactive.

The victim’s sister also revealed the husband’s unusual behavior following Iman’s disappearance. When the family contacted him to ask about her whereabouts, he claimed she had left the house a month earlier and never returned, leaving behind their three children, one of whom was just seven months old. Despite this, he had not reported her missing to the authorities.

In a social media post, the sister added that the husband continued living his life as if nothing had happened, seemingly unaffected by his wife’s sudden disappearance. Others close to Eman in Germany stated that she had frequent disputes with her husband, and at one point had sought refuge in a shelter for abused women along with her children. She eventually returned to the family home.

According to a source, after Iman’s disappearance, her husband posted offensive comments and accusations against her, questioning her honor. These claims were countered by friends and acquaintances who defended her character, describing her as a respectable and well-regarded woman.
