Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi attended the Egyptian Police Academy’s 2026 Graduation Day ceremony, held at the Academy’s headquarters in New Cairo.

The Spokesman for the Presidency, Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, stated that President El-Sisi was received upon his arrival by Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Minister of Interior Major General Mahmoud Tawfik; and Assistant Minister of Interior and Director of the Police Academy Major General Dr. Nidal Youssef.

Upon President El-Sisi’s arrival at the main reviewing stand, the guard of honor saluted him, and the national anthem of the Arab Republic of Egypt was played, marking the commencement of the ceremony.

Major General Dr. Nidal Youssef, Assistant Minister of Interior and Director of the Police Academy, delivered a speech and presented a commemorative gift to President El-Sisi at the conclusion of his address.

President El-Sisi subsequently watched a number of training demonstrations showcasing the outstanding level of preparation and training of the Academy’s cadets. These included physical fitness and self-defense demonstrations, specialized skills performed by female combat units, mountain training exercises, and combat proficiency demonstrations. The President also watched a mounted police demonstration, a display of Police Authority vehicles and Special Task Forces equipment, the general military parade, the handover of command ceremony, and the oath of allegiance.

President El-Sisi awarded the Medals of Excellence to the top-performing graduates from the Police College, international students, graduates holding a Bachelor of Laws degree, female graduates holding a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, students of the Specialized Officers Department, officers enrolled at the Graduate Studies College, and international officers studying at the Police Research Center.

This was followed by a speech delivered by Major General Mahmoud Tawfik, Minister of Interior. At its conclusion, the Martyr’s Salute was played in tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for Egypt.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, President El-Sisi congratulated the new graduates and their families, noting that these families had raised their sons and daughters and offered them in service to Egypt. The President expressed his gratitude to them and commended their tremendous role, in partnership with state institutions, in safeguarding Egypt’s security and stability.

President El-Sisi added that he had spoken the previous day about the subject of the nation’s collective memory. The President noted that Egypt’s security rests on two pillars: the police, represented by the Ministry of Interior, and the Armed Forces. Both are indispensable to Egypt’s domestic and external security and stability, with Egypt’s national security resting on the institutions of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Interior.

The President pointed out that all attempts aimed at undermining the Egyptian people since 2011 have also targeted the police and the Armed Forces. President El-Sisi reiterated that these two institutions constitute the nation’s two wings, which must be safeguarded, particularly given the large number of personnel serving in them, who come from all Egyptian families.

The President stressed that everyone has a role and a duty to protect these two institutions, not only from a security perspective, but also by raising awareness and informing public opinion. President El-Sisi explained that any crisis affecting either institution would have repercussions for the Egyptian state.

The President further noted that pressure on and attempts to target the Egyptian state are expected to intensify in the coming years as Egypt’s achievements and development rates continue to grow, and as those opposed to Egypt increasingly recognize that the state remains standing despite the failure of the schemes to bring it down in 2011, and that Egypt continues to build and achieve progress.

In this context, President El-Sisi emphasized that safeguarding the state is a responsibility shared by all Egyptians. The President reiterated the need to preserve the nation’s collective memory in the face of attempts to distort it through lies and slander, as well as efforts to discredit the Armed Forces, the police, and other state institutions. President El-Sisi underscored the strength and capabilities of the Egyptian people, describing them as the first line of defense against these hostile attempts targeting the state.

In concluding his remarks, President El-Sisi congratulated the graduates and their families, advising the graduates to protect themselves and never give anyone the opportunity to undermine the police institution.

Following the conclusion of the ceremony, President El-Sisi attended the breakfast banquet hosted by the Police Academy on the occasion. The President exchanged views with senior state officials and media figures in attendance on a number of domestic and regional issues.

In this regard, President El-Sisi affirmed that no country can achieve its development plans within just a few years. The President stressed the need to maintain the stability of the state and consistency in its chosen paths, while ensuring the presence of strong institutions that foster innovation and work toward achieving their objectives. President El-Sisi also underscored the importance of acknowledging shortcomings and working diligently to address them. The President noted that responsibility in this regard is shared, particularly when it comes to safeguarding the nation.

In the same context, President El-Sisi stressed the importance of prioritizing the quality of education and developing qualified, capable professionals without favoritism. The President referred to the institutional stagnation that had affected the state, its agencies, and its overall trajectory since 1967. President El-Sisi added that the scale of work undertaken by the state is immense, and the knowledge required to understand the state and its affairs is extensive, making it essential for those ruling Egypt and its senior officials to have a comprehensive understanding of these matters.

Regarding regional developments, President El-Sisi noted that the region is undergoing major and profound geopolitical changes that will have significant repercussions. The President affirmed that Egypt and Saudi Arabia are at the heart of the Arab and Islamic worlds, and that any harm affecting either country would have repercussions for the other. Accordingly, the assertion that the national security of Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and the Arab Gulf states is interconnected is accurate.

The President stressed that targeting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia affects Arab and Egyptian national security. President El-Sisi affirmed that Egypt will not accept any infringement on the Kingdom’s security or borders, nor will it accept any threat to the security of the Red Sea or international maritime routes. President El-Sisi emphasized that Egypt’s priorities are safeguarding the Kingdom’s security, ensuring that it remains unharmed and stable, and de-escalating tensions.

President El-Sisi pointed to the risks facing Egypt along its southern and western borders. The President noted that Egypt had made every effort to prevent a conflict from erupting in Sudan, adding that the stability of Sudan, Libya, and the Gaza Strip is essential to both Arab and Egyptian national security.

The President further affirmed that, in all his meetings and contacts with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu since 2014, President El-Sisi had stressed that the establishment of a Palestinian state would benefit everyone and lead to lasting peace and stability in the region.

President El-Sisi concluded by noting that the scale of work and achievements accomplished in Egypt since 2014 could not have been achieved in less than 30 years. The President affirmed that he would continue working until the final day of his presidential term in 2030.
