Vine leaves with chicken

Ingredients

2 cups short grain rice
250 g minced meat
A teaspoon of black pepper
3 teaspoons salt (salt to taste)
Half a teaspoon of mixed spices
400 grams of grape leaves
6 pieces of chicken (small thighs)
Peeled garlic cloves, quantity as desired

How to Prepare:

1- Place the grape leaves in hot water until they change color to brown and become soft and rollable, then wash the leaves with plain water and leave them until they dry.
2- Place the rice in hot water with a little salt for half an hour, then wash the rice well
3- Put the amount of rice and minced meat in a bowl with the pepper, salt and mixed spices and mix them well.
4- Spread a grape leaf and put a teaspoon of the filling in it and wrap it. Complete the amount of leaves in the same way.
5- After you finish wrapping the grape leaves, gather all 6 grape leaves together and wrap a white thread around them without pulling it too much.
6- Place the chicken thighs in the cooking pot, add hot water to them and boil for 10 minutes, then remove the boiling water.
7- Place bunches of grape leaves on top of the chicken thighs and distribute the peeled garlic bulbs between them
8- Prepare a plate that does not completely cover the pot. We will only use it to hold the stacks of paper while they are cooking, and place it on top of the stacks of paper.
9- Add water to the pot of grape leaves until they are covered, and do not forget to add salt to the water as desired
10-Place a small bowl of water on top of the plate on the pot to trap the grape leaves while they are cooking
11- Place the pot on medium heat for an hour and a quarter.
