Egypt Daily News – Dr. El-Sayed Sami, the technical director of Mohamed El-Sayed, the Egyptian national fencing team player, expressed his happiness at “his son’s” winning of the bronze medal in the individual competition at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, after defeating Hungary’s Andrasvi Tibor.

He said that since he came to Paris, Mohamed El-Sayed has been certain of winning an Olympic medal, explaining that the goal was the gold medal, but he is very happy to win the bronze because it is a big dream that came true after years of effort and many sacrifices.

He pointed out that Mohamed Al-Sayed worked hard in the past years, and his efforts were crowned with an Olympic medal, continuing, “He achieved local and continental achievements, so he had the right, after he was determined, to dream of reaching the summit, which is what he actually achieved.”

He stressed that Mohamed Al-Sayed studied well to achieve the first Olympic medal, the first in the history of Egypt, with the fencing sword, adding, “What a pride and honor that has been achieved for the large system that helped reach this dream.”

He concluded his statements by saying that psychological preparation, if good, and focus on the day of the match contribute to winning medals, so it will be an important factor in the upcoming matches, which will be a continuation of Mohamed Al-Sayed’s arrival on the podium with his first medal in Paris.

Mohamed Al-Sayed, ranked tenth in the world, defeated Hungary’s Andrasvi Tibor 8-7, to win the bronze medal in the fencing competitions at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
