Tourist boat sinks in the Nile

Egypt Daily News – A tourist boat sank in the Nile River near the Qasr al-Nil area in Cairo, with a total of 16 individuals on board. The incident prompted an immediate response from the Rescue Operations Room after receiving reports about the sinking during a Nile cruise trip.

Rescue teams, including river and water rescue forces, were quickly dispatched to the scene. They successfully rescued 11 individuals, while search efforts are ongoing for the 5 missing persons.

The injured are from a Saudi family: Aseel, Badr, their mother Wafa, her sister Mahasen, her daughter Azza, and her sons Mazen, Fares, and Youssef.

The sinking of the Nile River boat resulted in the death of two girls, Judy (8 years old), and Zeina (8 years old), and the loss of Samah, 15 years old, Saif M., 14 years old, a first-year middle school student, and Nhamda, 65 years old, a housewife.

Authorities are actively involved in the search operation to locate those unaccounted for.
