Egypt Daily News – Israeli media highlight a significant increase in security measures at Israel’s diplomatic missions worldwide following the assassinations of high-profile leaders in the Palestinian and Lebanese resistance movements.

Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the Hamas political bureau, was reportedly assassinated during an Israeli raid in Tehran shortly after attending the inauguration of Iran’s new president, Massoud Pezeshkian.

This incident is described as part of a broader trend of targeted eliminations of Hamas leaders linked to the violent confrontations that took place on October 7.

The reports suggest that Yahya Al-Sinwar, the head of Hamas in Gaza, may be a potential target in future operations, indicating a continued Israeli strategy to undermine the leadership of Hamas.

In addition, Fouad Shukr, the supreme military commander of Hezbollah, was confirmed killed in an Israeli attack in Beirut’s southern suburbs.

These events have sparked outrage and mourning within both Hamas and Hezbollah. Hezbollah issued a statement offering condolences for Haniyeh, emphasizing solidarity with the Palestinian people and resistance movements.

The organization called Haniyeh a “great and sincere leader” and reaffirmed its commitment to the struggle for liberation in the region.

The actions and responses stemming from these assassinations reflect the ongoing and complex dynamics of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, as well as the broader geopolitical tensions in the Middle East involving groups like Hamas and Hezbollah.
