Egypt Daily News – Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has pledged to provide Lebanon with gas supplies “immediately” to aid the country in operating its power plants.

This decision follows a complete power outage in Lebanon, which occurred due to a lack of fuel supplies, leading the last operational production unit at the Zahrani power plant to cease functioning.

Algerian Prime Minister Nadhir Arbawi communicated this decision to his Lebanese counterpart, Najib Mikati, during a phone call on Sunday.

The official statement emphasized the solidarity of Algeria with Lebanon during these challenging times, highlighting the importance of restoring electricity in the country.

The Electricity Corporation in Lebanon reported that the outage affected all regions and fundamental services, stemming from the depletion of fuel reserves in the Zahrani plant.
