Egypt Daily News – The Palestinian Red Crescent Society has reported the death of an 82-year-old Palestinian man, Tawfiq Ahmed Younis Qandeel, who was shot by Israeli soldiers in Jenin during ongoing military operations. Medical sources indicated that he was struck by nine bullets fired by Israeli snipers while in the eastern neighborhood of the city.

The Red Crescent also noted that Israeli forces fired upon ambulances attempting to transport Qandeel’s body and another injured individual from the scene.

This incident has contributed to a rising death toll, as 20 Palestinians across Jenin, Tubas, and Tulkarm have been reported killed since the start of intensive military actions on Wednesday.

Reports indicate that Israeli forces have been conducting raids in the eastern neighborhood of Jenin, forcing residents from their homes and using some properties as military outposts.

Local sources claim that families were threatened with evacuation and some were compelled to take alternative paths to escape the presence of soldiers.

In response to the deteriorating situation, families have urged the Red Cross and human rights organizations to intervene and support residents in Jenin.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society has highlighted significant challenges their teams are facing, as ambulances are being obstructed from reaching citizens in need of urgent medical assistance.

Spokesperson Nibal Farsakh reported instances of direct targeting of their medical crews, which has hindered their ability to provide care for the injured and transport casualties.
