Egypt Daily News – During his recent address at the New York Economic Club, former President Donald Trump made a commitment to reduce taxes for companies that manufacture goods within the United States and proposed the creation of special low-tax zones to encourage domestic production.
He also announced the establishment of a government efficiency committee aimed at auditing the financial and administrative functions of the federal government.
In a groundbreaking development, Trump revealed that Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and the platform X (formerly Twitter), has agreed to lead this committee. This initiative aims to root out “fraud and improper payments” within six months of the committee’s formation.
Elon Musk expressed enthusiasm about the project, mentioning in a podcast on August 19 that he had discussed the concept with Trump and was interested in participating.
He conveyed his readiness to serve without any need for a salary, title, or recognition, as he stated in a tweet: “I don’t need a salary, a title, or recognition.”
Trump further offered Musk a potential role as a federal auditor should he win the election in November, expressing his intent to appoint Musk to a “ministerial” position to thoroughly assess federal agencies and eliminate unnecessary spending and regulations. Musk responded positively, indicating that he would be eager to join this mission if given the chance.
