Egypt Daily News – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office has confirmed that reports of a ceasefire with Hezbollah are false.

The Prime Minister has not yet responded to a joint American-French proposal for a ceasefire, and the office clarified that any claims suggesting a halt to military operations in northern Israel are inaccurate. Netanyahu has directed the military to continue its operations vigorously.

Despite this, U.S. President Joe Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron have released a joint statement emphasizing the importance of a settlement along the Israel-Lebanon border that would ensure security and allow civilians to return home.

They expressed concerns about the ongoing exchange of fire, particularly since October 7, which risks escalating the conflict and endangering civilians.

The leaders noted that both Washington and Paris are coordinating on a call for a ceasefire to promote diplomatic efforts and prevent further escalation in the region.

This proposal has garnered support from several countries and entities, including Australia, Canada, the European Union, Germany, Italy, Japan, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar.
