Egypt Daily News – President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt and Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim of Malaysia issued a strong condemnation of Israel’s military operations, which they described as violations of international law, humanitarian law, and human rights law.
Their statement highlighted the ongoing incursions and airstrikes into Lebanon by Israeli forces, resulting in the tragic deaths of over two thousand innocent civilians and significant damage to infrastructure.
The leaders underscored the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire to halt what they termed a humanitarian catastrophe, affirming the importance of maintaining Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
They also expressed their full support for the Lebanese state and the implementation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701, which aims to promote peace and security in the region.
This joint statement was made during Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s official visit to Egypt, which coincided with the sixty-fifth anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
