Egypt Daily News – During his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Commander of the Russian Strategic Missile Forces Sergei Karakaev stressed the ability of the Oreshnik missile to hit targets throughout Europe.

Karakayev said during his meeting with Putin: “Based on the specific tasks and operational scope of the Oreshnik missile, it can hit targets throughout Europe.” He added, during his evaluation of the first missile launch: “The launch was successful, and its goal was achieved. The results of the launch confirmed the quality of the design and features of the missile system.”

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed that “there are no means to confront Russia’s latest weapons today,” and he also unveiled a new medium-range missile system on which the Russian army conducted successful tests, called “Oreshnik.”

He stressed that tests in combat conditions of the Oreshnik missile system are being conducted in response to the aggressive actions of NATO countries towards Russia.

He added: “Current missile defense systems, including American ones in Europe, will not be able to intercept missiles such as the Oreshnik. The latest Russian missiles attack targets at a speed of 2-3 kilometers per second, and missile defense systems do not intercept them.

He pointed out that “Russia considers itself that it has the right to use weapons against military facilities of countries against which it uses its weapons against Russia” and said that the Russian armed forces launched a strike on a Ukrainian defense industries facility in response to attacks with American and British weapons on Russia.
