Egypt Daily News – On Saturday evening, Israeli media reported that 4 soldiers were killed and others were injured as a result of a mine explosion in the northern Gaza Strip.
The Maale Adumim settlement municipality said that a soldier from the settlement in the Nahal Brigade was killed during battles in the Gaza Strip. It was not clear whether the dead soldier from Maale Adumim was among the four dead or was killed in a separate incident.
Palestinian media reported on settler platforms that among the dead were 4 soldiers from the “Nahal” Brigade, 2 from the “Netzah Yehuda” Battalion, in addition to another soldier from the “Givati” Brigade. It indicated that among the injured were 11 in serious condition, including a senior officer with the rank of brigadier general.
It explained that the explosion occurred in a tunnel opening in the northern Gaza Strip, where the Palestinian resistance targeted Israeli forces with powerful explosions, killing soldiers and wounding others with varying injuries.
The Israeli “Hadshot Bazman” website confirmed that 4 soldiers were killed, 2 were seriously injured, and 6 others were injured, including a lieutenant colonel, as a result of a military vehicle targeting a deputy battalion commander in the army.
Israeli sources reported that a “very difficult” event occurred on Saturday in the Gaza Strip and was almost unprecedented in terms of the number of deaths and injuries. The Hebrew media described the event as one of the bloodiest days in the army’s ranks in the Gaza Strip in months.
The Israeli army did not issue an immediate comment on what was reported by the Israeli media and settler platforms regarding the deaths.
During the ongoing Israeli war on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, the army acknowledged the killing of 831 Israeli officers and soldiers.
