Egypt Daily News – In the early hours of Friday morning, the Gulf of Suez Petroleum Company (GAPCO) received the crew members of the sunken boat Triton, after GAPCO’s ships, under the supervision of Captain Mohamed Abdel Hadi and Captain Karim Ayad, succeeded in finding them and rescuing them all alive, under the supervision of Captain Mohamed Abdel Hadi and Captain Karim Ayad, who are in charge of the maritime sector.
The rescue operation was carried out using the Maridive 602 and BMS 5, where the company’s leaders followed up on the search and rescue work as soon as they received the report of the sinking yacht, and a number of ambulances were sent to transport the survivors to the hospital to check on their health condition.
Details of the accident and preliminary investigations
Preliminary investigations revealed that the tourist boat, which was empty of passengers, was carrying 6 crew members, namely: Adel El Sayed Mahmoud Mahmoud El Maadawi (37 years old), Hamed Mahmoud Hamed El Maadawi (36 years old), Nour El Din El Haj Ahmed (27 years old), Mohamed Saber Ibrahim (27 years old), El Sayed Mohamed Ahmed Othman (37 years old) (mechanic).
Mohamed Ahmed al-Masri (Bahri – 27 years old), and the Search and Rescue Center was notified of the accident immediately after it occurred.
The rescue operation
A tragic accident occurred in the maritime area opposite Jabal Al-Zait in the Red Sea, where a boat coming from the city of Rashid with a crew of 6 people on board capsized.
According to sources, the boat encountered difficulties that led to losing control and capsizing, prompting the sailors to launch a distress call via their cell phones in an attempt to save them before the boat sank completely.
Upon receiving the signal, the authorities moved very quickly, as a number of marine launches and search and rescue teams were sent to the site of the incident, and the specialized teams combed the area intensively to find the crew members and make sure they were all safely rescued.
At the beginning of the search, rescue teams were able to find 4 crew members using specialized equipment and modern technologies to help locate them in the Red Sea waters. Afterward, intensive search operations continued to find two others who were missing, until rescue teams were able to reach them and rescue them as well.
The survivors were taken to Ghareb Hospital for check ups, where one of them was found to have a broken hand, while the rest received first aid.
Egyptian authorities went to great lengths to ensure a quick response and rescue of the entire crew, as all necessary measures were taken to ensure their safety.
