Egypt Daily News – At least one Israeli was killed, and others were injured in a stabbing attack at the “Lev HaMifrats” central bus station in Haifa, northern Israel. Israeli authorities stated on Monday that the attacker had been “neutralized.”

According to Palestinian sources, the assailant was identified as Yithro Shahin from the city of Shefa-Amr in the Galilee region, holding German citizenship.

The incident resulted in injuries to at least five people—four from the stabbing and one from a gunshot wound sustained during the shooting at the attacker. Haifa police confirmed that they are “scanning the area to rule out the presence of additional attackers,” according to a statement by Police Commander Daniel Levy on Monday.

Additionally, the railway authority announced changes to train operations on the “Beit She’an – Atlit” line, stating that trains would no longer stop at the “HaMifrats” central station, where the attack took place, in response to police measures.

Police deployed reinforced forces to the scene of the attack and launched an investigation.

Magen David Adom stated that among the injured were a young man, a woman in their thirties, and a 15-year-old boy, all of whom were in serious condition. The injured were transferred to Rambam Hospital for treatment, according to local media reports.

Israeli media also reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who was attending a hearing in a court reviewing corruption cases, was informed of the attack through a written note. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu commented on the stabbing attack that took place earlier on Monday in the occupied city of Haifa.

In a post on his official X platform page, Netanyahu described the attack as a “horrific terrorist attack” and expressed his wishes for the wounded to recover quickly. He added, “We will continue to fight those who seek to harm our lives everywhere, and we will defeat them,” according to his post.

One Israeli was killed, and four others were injured to varying degrees on Monday morning in a stabbing attack in Haifa, within the 1948 territories.

Israeli media reported that one Israeli was killed and four others were injured, two of them critically, in a stabbing attack at a central bus station in Haifa, while Israeli police killed the assailant. According to Israeli reports, the attacker was identified as Yithro Shahin, a young man from the Druze community in the city of Shefa-Amr.

Initial reports indicate that the attacker arrived on a bus from Shefa-Amr to the central bus station in Haifa. Upon disembarking, he entered a shopping center, brandished a knife while shouting “Allahu Akbar,” and stabbed several settlers before Israeli forces arrived.

As a large number of Israeli forces reached the scene, they opened heavy fire on the attacker. In the process, they mistakenly shot a settler who was armed, believing he was an accomplice to the attacker, according to a report by the Quds News Network.
