Egypt Daily News – Elon Musk has blamed Ukraine for a significant cyberattack on X (formerly Twitter) that led to widespread outages on Monday.
Tens of thousands of users reported at least three major disruptions to the platform. Musk suggested in a series of posts on X that a “large, coordinated group and/or a country” was behind the “massive” attack. “We get attacked every day, but this was done with a lot of resources,” he stated.
During an interview with Larry Kudlow on Fox News, Musk further claimed that the hackers’ IP addresses originated from the “Ukraine area.”
Elon Musk, CEO of platform X (formerly Twitter), announced on Monday that the platform had been hit by a massive cyberattack, which he described as being “executed with enormous resources.”
In a post on his X account, Musk suggested that the attack might be backed by “a large coordinated group or a state.”
Musk stated: “There is (and remains) a massive cyberattack against X. We face attacks daily, but this one was executed with significant resources. Either a large coordinated group or a state is behind it. Tracking in progress…”
The attack coincided with major service disruptions on the platform, with over 40,000 users reporting that they were unable to access their accounts, according to data from a website specializing in tracking digital outages.
The disruptions included issues with loading content and sending messages, significantly affecting the user experience.
