Egypt Daily News – In a detailed statement, Abu Ubaidah, the spokesperson for the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, announced the killing of its chief of staff, Mohamed Al-Dhaif, along with a number of prominent leaders in the military council.
This came during a video speech this evening, as Abu Ubaidah confirmed that the killing of these leaders was done after the completion of the security investigation and taken all necessary measures imposed by the “battle and field conditions”, without revealing the exact time of their killing.
Below is a list of prominent leaders who Abu Ubaidah announced their martyr, and they are:
Muhammad Al-Dhaif: Commander of the Staff of the Al-Qassam Brigades
Marwan Issa: Deputy Chief of Staff of Al-Qassam
Ghazi Abu Tumat: The Commander of the Arms and Martial Services Corner
Raed Thabet: Commander of the Human Forces Corner
Rafeh Salama: Leader of Khan Yunis.
Ahmed Al -Ghandour: Commander of the North Brigade
Ayman Nofal: Commander of the Central Governorate Brigade
Abu Ubaidah concluded his speech with a message to the Israeli army, where he said: “Whatever our losses are, we will be stronger than you can imagine,” stressing that Al-Qassam “still has the drive and commitment,” in reference to its ability to continue military operations.
It is noteworthy that Mohamed Al-Dhaif had been subjected to assassination attempts by Israel several times, and he is considered one of the most prominent mysterious leaders in the Hamas movement, as he is surrounded by severe secrecy of his movements for decades. Marwan Issa described him as the “strategic planning mind” of the Qassam Brigades.
The announcement of Hamas is approximately 7 months after the Israeli army announced (last summer), the killing of the Hamas military wing commander, Mohamed Al-Dhaif, was killed more than two weeks after he was targeted in the southern Gaza Strip in July.
The Israeli army at the time confirmed the killing of Mohamed Al-Dhaif, commander of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas, in an Israeli air strike on Gaza.
A 2000 pounds bomb
It is noteworthy that Israel announced that the raid it carried out on July 13 killed Rafeh Salama, the leader of the Khan Yunis Brigade of the Qassam Brigades. The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip said that the raid had killed more than 90 people.
However, the Israeli army spokesman, Daniel Hagari, said at the time that Salama and the guest were “sitting next to each other at the time of the raid,” adding that Hamas “hid what happened” to the duo.
The suspected bomb weighted 2000 pounds left a huge giant hole in place of the house where they were sitting.
