Egypt Daily News – Violent explosions rocked the capital, Sana’a, following airstrikes attributed to American and British fighter jets.
Reports indicate that a series of four consecutive explosions were heard throughout the city on Friday evening, with Houthi media confirming targeted attacks on various military locations, including a camp in the Al-Thawra district and Al Hudaydah Airport.
The airstrikes also reportedly extended to the city of Dhamar and the Mukayras district in Al-Bayda province, underscoring the extensive nature of the operation aimed at undermining Houthi military capabilities.
Despite Houthi claims detailing the strikes, including their location and intensity, there is ambiguity surrounding the involvement of British forces, as the British government has denied participation.
An American official has, however, confirmed that U.S. military actions targeted Houthi positions to destroy their weapon systems and military infrastructure, indicating a concerted effort to address the ongoing conflict in the region.
This marked escalation follows prior airstrikes in July and September, which have previously targeted similar Houthi installations.
The day prior, Houthi leadership reported a series of airstrikes conducted by the U.S.-British coalition, and tensions in the area have been high, especially following claims by Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi of 39 airstrikes carried out against their positions earlier in the week.
The situation remains fluid, with implications for regional stability and humanitarian conditions in Yemen.
