Egypt Daily News – Abbas Araghchi, the Iranian Foreign Minister, has reaffirmed Iran’s support for any ceasefire negotiated in Lebanon, contingent upon approval by Lebanese resistance groups, the protection of Lebanese rights, and a simultaneous cessation of hostilities in Gaza.

He conveyed these sentiments in a statement to Iranian state television, highlighting ongoing discussions with Lebanese officials and other nations.

Araghchi characterized the current situation in Lebanon as abnormal, emphasizing Iran’s firm support for Hezbollah amid ongoing conflict in the region.

He also warned Israel that any aggression towards Iran would provoke a stronger retaliation from Tehran, in contrast to what he described as Israel’s targeting of humanitarian sites. He claimed that Iran’s military responses have been focused solely on military and security targets.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard recently claimed to have launched a missile attack against Israeli positions, framing the action as a response to perceived provocations, including the assassination of key figures in Hamas and Hezbollah attributed to Israel.

They warned that further Israeli retaliation would result in escalated attacks from Iran.

Overall, Iran’s statements reflect a complex interplay of regional tensions, military posturing, and a commitment to supporting allied groups while also safeguarding its interests against perceived threats from Israel.
