Egypt Daily News – U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin recently spoke with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant regarding the ongoing situation in the Gaza Strip.
During their conversation, they addressed the progress toward securing a ceasefire and the release of detainees and prisoners, emphasizing the importance of reaching a resolution.
Austin also highlighted the ongoing exchange of fire along the Israeli-Lebanese border and the potential for escalation involving Iran, Hezbollah, and Tehran-backed groups in the region.
He reassured Minister Galant that the United States is strategically positioned across the region to defend Israel and safeguard American personnel and installations.
He continued: “I also informed the Israeli minister that the United States is well positioned in locations throughout the region, to defend Israel and protect American personnel and installations.”
