Egypt Daily News – The US Embassy in Beirut issued a strong advisory for American citizens in Lebanon, urging them to book any available flights out of the country due to rising regional tensions.
The embassy emphasized that travelers should be flexible with their travel plans, even if it means taking flights that do not depart immediately or lead to their preferred destination.
In addition, the embassy offered assistance to those who may not have the financial means to leave, mentioning the possibility of repatriation loans. Citizens who decide to remain in Lebanon are advised to develop contingency plans for emergencies and to be ready to stay in place for an extended duration.
The embassy further cautioned that citizens should not expect U.S. government assistance in case of a crisis. In any potential evacuation scenario, the ability to leave with family members or pets might be limited, and the citizens would be required to repay the government for any transportation provided.
