Egypt Daily News – Wang Yi, the Chinese Foreign Minister, reaffirmed China’s support for Egypt’s plan and Arab efforts to rebuild Gaza. In a statement reported by “Cairo News,” he emphasized that Gaza belongs to the Palestinian people and that any change in the status of the territory would not lead to peace.

China Calls for a Comprehensive Ceasefire

He stressed the need for the international community to focus more on the two-state solution and support the full establishment of a Palestinian state. He called for a comprehensive and lasting ceasefire in Gaza and urged all parties in the Middle East to overcome their differences and support the Palestinian people in establishing their state. He stated, “China will continue to stand firmly with the people of the Middle East and support their right to determine their future and destiny.”

Wang Yi also addressed the misuse of fentanyl, stating that it is an issue the United States must resolve. He criticized economic pressures from the Trump administration, saying, “If one party exerts pressure on us, we will respond firmly.” He added that China would not tolerate threats from the U.S. and described American tariffs as unjustified. He stressed that mutual respect is essential for stable relations with Washington and reaffirmed China’s support for dialogue between Ukraine and Russia.

Support for Peace Efforts Between Moscow and Kyiv

He welcomed U.S. attempts to support peace between Moscow and Kyiv, stating that China’s relationship with Russia is not aimed at any third party. He emphasized that China does not provoke conflicts but will not shy away from them. He reaffirmed China’s commitment to global peace and opposition to dominance and coercion by certain countries. “The Chinese-Russian friendship will remain unchanged regardless of international developments,” he added.

Regarding the Ukraine crisis, Wang Yi asserted that the security of one country should not come at the expense of another’s insecurity. He also expressed confidence in Europe, believing it can remain a reliable partner for Beijing. He reiterated China’s stance on Taiwan, stating, “Taiwan remains a part of our territory and will never become an independent state.”
