Egyptian Foreign Ministry offers its condolences to the families of the deceased pilgrims, and allocates contact numbers to respond to inquiries

Egypt Daily News - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its sincere condolences to the families of the deceased pilgrims, and affirmed its continued efforts around the clock to secure the safe return of all Egyptian pilgrims to the homeland.

Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that, based on of Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs directives, for the consular sector of the Ministry and Egypt’s diplomatic and consular missions in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the relevant Ministry agencies are making intensive efforts in cooperation with the authorities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to follow up on operations. Searching for missing Egyptian citizens among the ranks of Egyptian pilgrims, and what has been reported about a number of deaths during the current Hajj season.

He revealed that the Egyptian Consulate in Jeddah has launched an emergency room that operates 24 hours a day, to receive calls from citizens who have lost contact with their families in Mecca, Medina, or the Holy Sites, and has allocated the following phone number to receive citizens’ calls:

On the other hand, the Consular Sector of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs launched an operations room that operates 24 hours a day to receive all citizens’ communications requesting the search for missing persons or the shipment of the bodies of their relatives who have passed away.
