Egyptian wedding at ancient temple stirs controversy

ALBAWABA - Egyptian social media users have been widely debating a controversial video of a wedding ceremony being held in one of the ancient temples. A video went viral causing a fuss online showing a singer and a dancer from a wedding in Egypt.

Netizens slammed the video saying the Egyptian authorities should not allow such occasions to be held in ancient temples.

"Where is Egypt going," a person commented on X (formerly Twitter).

What made people angry pushing them to denounce the wedding ceremony was the presence of a dancer in an ancient temple. However, many others slammed people who attended the wedding ceremony. According to a person on X, the event was held at the Philae temple complex in Aswan.

Nevertheless, in the footage, Egyptian singer and actor Mohamed Mounir was heard singing while next to him a dancer was seen moving on the music.
