Egypt Daily News – Journalist Diaa Rashwan, who serves as the general coordinator of the national dialogue, commented on the significance of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to Cairo, emphasizing that it reflects the longstanding and deep-rooted relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

In an interview on the program “News Talk” with Samar Al-Zuhairi on the “Extra News” channel, Rashwan noted the considerable presence of Egyptian workers in Saudi Arabia, estimated to be in the millions, and highlighted the connections through Saudi nationals from Egyptian families.

Rashwan pointed out that since the upheaval in Egypt in 2013 against the Muslim Brotherhood, the bonds between Egypt and Saudi Arabia have been particularly noticeable during crises, which he described as a time of danger for both nations and the wider region.

He reiterated that the importance of these relationships is most clear during moments of significant change, referencing President Sisi’s acknowledgment of Saudi Arabia’s supportive stance during Egypt’s challenging times.

Earlier today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi welcomed Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at Cairo International Airport, where a formal reception occurred at the Ittihadiya Palace.

The two leaders held both bilateral and expanded meetings, which included Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and delegations from both countries.

President Sisi reaffirmed the strength of strategic relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, stressing the need for collaboration to confront current regional challenges.

Furthermore, it was announced that an Egyptian-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council would be established to strengthen institutional ties between the two nations.
