Drugs seized with Saad El Soghayar at Cairo Airport

Egypt Daily News – Cairo International Airport Customs, headed by Dr. Magid Moussa, head of the central administration, and Ahmed Saad Abdel Muttalib, the general manager of passenger customs at Terminal 2, apprehended the singer Saad El Soghayar after seizing a collection of narcotic substances in his possession while completing customs procedures for passengers arriving on a flight from one of the Arab capitals.

The seized items included special containers for electronic cigarettes containing marijuana. The security authorities are presenting the popular singer to the relevant prosecution for investigation into crimes occurring within the airport, in order to interrogate him regarding the possession of narcotic substances for the purpose of use, which were found in his possession during a search at the airport upon his return from abroad.

It is scheduled that after the investigation with Saad El Soghayar, the investigative authorities will order the materials found in his possession to be sent to the chemical laboratory for examination, to determine whether they contain narcotic substances listed in the known drug schedules.

While the investigation authorities will determine the fate of his detention, either by keeping Saad El Soghayar in custody or releasing him until the results of the analysis appear.

Sources close to the artist Saad El Soghayar confirmed that he was arrested immediately upon his return from a musical tour, they also reported that he was caught in possession of electronic cigarettes and substances listed on the drug schedule. The artist stated that he cannot read or write and was unaware that the items in his possession were prohibited.
