Egypt Daily News – Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel Aaty held talks with his Saudi counterpart, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, during an official visit to the city of Alamein. The meeting underscored the strength and depth of the historic and brotherly relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia, which continue to witness steady progress under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Both ministers praised the growing momentum in bilateral relations, which has been bolstered by the establishment of the Egyptian-Saudi Higher Coordination Council. The council aims to enhance economic, investment, and trade cooperation to meet the aspirations of both nations.

Minister Abdel Aaty firmly rejected recent attempts by certain online platforms to undermine or cast doubt on the strength of Egyptian-Saudi relations, emphasizing the enduring and resilient bonds between the two countries.

The talks also addressed key regional developments, with a particular focus on the Palestinian issue. Abdel Aaty outlined Egypt’s ongoing efforts to broker a ceasefire in Gaza, as well as its coordination with regional and international stakeholders. He also noted Egypt’s preparations to host a conference for the reconstruction of Gaza and the facilitation of humanitarian aid.

The ministers reviewed the situation in Libya, reaffirming Egypt’s support for a Libyan-led resolution to the conflict, respect for Libya’s sovereignty, and rejection of foreign interference. They stressed the need for a unified international approach to restore stability and security in the country.

On Sudan, both ministers reiterated the importance of preserving the country’s unity and territorial integrity. They voiced support for Sudan’s national institutions and expressed a shared commitment to shielding the country from external intervention while upholding the interests of the Sudanese people.

Regarding Syria, the two sides condemned recent Israeli strikes, including attacks on Tishreen Palace and the General Staff complex in Damascus. They reiterated their call for Israel to withdraw from all Syrian territories occupied since 1967, including the Golan Heights, and emphasized the need to respect Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The meeting reflected a high level of alignment between Egypt and Saudi Arabia on regional issues, as well as a shared determination to deepen bilateral ties and advance diplomatic efforts to resolve ongoing crises across the Middle East.
