Egyptian authorities have extended the customs exemption for mobile phones brought by Egyptians residing abroad from 90 to 120 days, effective from April 1. The move aims to facilitate services for citizens abroad and simplify administrative procedures.

The announcement came following a meeting between the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Minister of Communications, where discussions focused on enhancing digital transformation, expanding consular services through the Egypt Digital platform, and increasing the availability of electronic services for Egyptians living overseas.

Officials also addressed strengthening digital infrastructure, building capacities in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, and continuing to provide notarization services via mail.

The meeting concluded with the launch of a commemorative postal stamp marking the centenary of Egyptian diplomacy, celebrating the ministry’s historic role and contributions to Egypt’s foreign relations.
