Egypt Daily News – The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics revealed an increase in the value of deposits in postal current accounts to 249.5 billion Egyptian pounds in the fiscal year 2023/2024, compared to 164.5 billion pounds in 2022/2023, marking a growth of 51.7%.
The “Annual Bulletin of Postal Services Statistics” also indicated a rise in the value of pensions paid out to 179.5 billion pounds in 2023/2024, compared to 140.5 billion pounds in 2022/2023, reflecting an increase of 27.8%. However, the value of deposits in the savings fund decreased to 121.5 billion pounds in 2023/2024, down from 130.7 billion pounds in 2022/2023, showing a decline of 7.0%.
The value of stamps and forms sold at postal units decreased to 335.8 million pounds in 2023/2024, compared to 366.0 million pounds in 2022/2023, a drop of 8.2%.
The number of postal offices reached 4,643 in 2023/2024, up from 4,412 in 2022/2023, marking a 5.2% increase.
The number of electronic payment service units operating nationwide also rose to 9,286 units in 2023/2024, compared to 8,824 units in 2022/2023, reflecting a 5.2% increase. These units provide automated systems for conducting financial transactions and checking balances.
