Egypt Daily News – Saudi Arabia tops the list of largest importers of Egyptian goods in 2024. Saudi Arabia ranked as the top importer of Egyptian products in 2024, according to data from the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade.

The value of exports to Saudi Arabia reached $3.2 billion, up from $2.7 billion in the previous year, marking an 18% increase and a rise of $490 million.

The United Arab Emirates came in second, with Egyptian exports amounting to $3.1 billion, compared to $2.2 billion in 2023, reflecting a 44% growth.

Turkey ranked third, with exports valued at $3.1 billion, up from $2.8 billion, showing a 10% increase.

Italy ranked fourth among the largest importers of Egyptian goods, with exports reaching $2.2 billion, compared to $2.1 billion in the previous year, marking a 6% growth.

The United States ranked fifth, with Egyptian exports reaching $2.2 billion, compared to $2.01 billion in the previous year, marking a 17% growth.

Earlier, Egypt announced the resolution of an issue regarding the entry of some of its products into Morocco, which had emerged last month. Egyptian media had speculated that the issue could negatively impact trade volume between the two countries.

Nadim Elias, Chairman of the Export Council for Packaging and Printing Industries in Egypt, stated on Friday that the efforts of Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El-Khatib, successfully resolved the suspension of Egyptian product imports into Morocco, positively impacting trade between the two nations.

Elias confirmed that the Moroccan side has allowed the entry of all types of packaging products, strengthening trade relations. He also revealed that exports in the packaging and printing sector to Morocco increased by 9%, reaching $34.6 million in 2024, according to Egyptian media.

He pointed to ongoing discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation between Egypt and Morocco, including increasing trade missions and exchanging expertise. Expressing optimism about the future of trade relations between the two countries, he emphasized the importance of the packaging and printing sector in supporting exports, which grew by 7% to reach $950.9 million in 2024.

For the first time, Morocco officially commented on the presence of “trade disputes” with Egypt. Moroccan government spokesperson Mustapha Baitas stated in a weekly press conference that “the Kingdom of Morocco and Egypt share numerous bilateral, regional, and international agreements.” He noted that “it is natural for some issues to arise occasionally in the implementation of these agreements,” according to the Moroccan newspaper Hespress.
