Egypt Daily News – Dr. Badr Abdel Ati, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs, said that his discussions with his Tunisian counterpart, Mohamed El-Nafti, dealt with the situation in Syria and developments there.
He added, during a press conference with his Tunisian counterpart in the Administrative Capital, today, Wednesday, that visions were exchanged in detail about this file, which concerns the two countries and the Arab world.
Dr. Badr Abdel Ati stressed that it is important for there to be a comprehensive political process in Syria that does not exclude anyone, and reflects the sectarian, cultural and religious diversity in Syria, pointing to full support for the Syrian state and its sovereignty and the importance of preserving state institutions.
He noted that the discussions also addressed the Libyan crisis, given that Egypt and Tunisia share borders with Libya, stressing the importance of accelerating work on holding presidential and legislative elections as quickly as possible.
He stated that they discussed the situation in Sudan, the efforts made to reach an immediate ceasefire, and work to deal with the humanitarian situation by supporting the flow of aid.
