The Unified Government Complaints System under the Egyptian Cabinet has taken urgent steps to assist Egyptian citizen Miar Nabil, who, along with her daughter, was reportedly detained by her husband in the United Arab Emirates.

The intervention followed Miar’s appeal for help, posted on her personal Facebook page, in which she described being trapped with her daughter by her husband, Mohamed El-Sayed Ali Hasheesh. According to her account, she married and later moved to the UAE based on an agreement between her husband and her father, expecting to live together in the same country. She claimed that instead, she and her daughter were confined without basic utilities such as water or electricity, in conditions that did not match the agreed arrangements, after having traveled at her family’s expense to resolve the situation.

The Egyptian government emphasized its commitment to safeguarding the welfare of its citizens abroad. The Cabinet’s complaints committee has pledged to provide Miar with all necessary legal and psychological support, ensuring her safety and that of her daughter, and to work toward their safe return to Egypt.

This case highlights the Egyptian state’s proactive stance in responding to citizens’ emergencies abroad and its dedication to offering assistance to nationals facing distress in foreign countries.
