Egypt’s Minister of Defence and Military Production, Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher, underscored the critical importance of combat efficiency and constant readiness as pillars for national security and stability, particularly amid the evolving regional landscape.
Lieutenant General Zaher made the remarks during a high-level meeting with officers and non-commissioned officers from the main branches of the Egyptian Armed Forces at the Ministry of Defence’s General Secretariat. The session was attended by Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, as well as commanders of the army, navy, air force, and other senior military officials.
According to an official statement from the military spokesman, the minister reviewed current international and regional developments affecting Egypt’s national security. He highlighted the necessity for continuous vigilance and preparedness, emphasizing that the readiness and skill of every service member directly contribute to the country’s ability to respond effectively to any threat.

In his address, Lieutenant General Zaher stressed the importance of maintaining and regularly inspecting military equipment and weapons systems, while also urging personnel to focus on enhancing their individual skills, physical fitness, and operational readiness. Such measures, he said, ensure that the Armed Forces remain capable of executing any mission under all circumstances.
The defence minister also conveyed the personal greetings and appreciation of President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi to the service members, commending their dedication and professionalism in safeguarding Egypt’s national interests.
Military analysts note that the remarks come at a time of heightened regional tension, including ongoing instability in neighboring countries and evolving security challenges in the Middle East. Observers highlight that Egypt’s emphasis on combat readiness reflects broader strategic efforts to maintain a credible deterrent and ensure internal and regional stability.
