Egypt Daily News – Dr. Badr Abdel Aaty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, reviewed the outcomes of the recent Arab summit and the intensive efforts undertaken by the Foreign Ministry to rally support for the Arab plan on early recovery and the reconstruction of Gaza, reaffirming that Egypt’s plan for Gaza’s reconstruction has been approved and became an Arab-Islamic plan.
This came during a meeting of the Foreign Relations Committee in the House of Representatives, chaired by MP Karim Darwish, to discuss “the latest developments on the international scene and Egypt’s position on them,” in the presence of Ambassador Dr. Badr Abdel Aaty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration, and Egyptians Abroad.
Abdel Aaty added that the emergency Arab summit hosted by Egypt was very important, and efforts are now underway to implement its outcomes. He stated, “Egypt’s plan for the reconstruction of Gaza has been approved, making it an Arab-Islamic plan.
“He explained that both the Arab Summit and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which includes 57 countries, have adopted the plan, thereby making Egypt’s reconstruction plan for Gaza an officially recognized Arab-Islamic initiative.
He also pointed out that there are ongoing movements and communications with the European Union, Geneva, and international institutions to gain further approval for the plan and advance Gaza’s reconstruction. Additionally, he noted that a ministerial committee is traveling across countries to persuade the world of the Arab plan.
The foreign ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), during their meeting in Jeddah, expressed their support for Egypt’s plan to rebuild Gaza. The plan also received backing from Rome, Paris, Berlin, and London.
