Egypt Daily News – Egypt’s statement following the Israeli airstrikes on Gaza on Tuesday condemned the Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, calling them “a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement and a dangerous escalation that threatens serious consequences for regional stability.”

In a statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Egypt rejects “all Israeli aggressions aimed at reigniting tensions in the region and undermining efforts to restore calm and stability.”

Egypt’s statement also called on the international community to “intervene immediately to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza and prevent the region from slipping into a renewed cycle of violence and counter-violence.”

The statement also called on “all parties to exercise restraint and give mediators the opportunity to complete their efforts to reach a permanent ceasefire.”

Early Tuesday, the Israeli army announced that it had begun striking “targets belonging to Hamas in Gaza” in an operation named “Pride and the Sword.”

The Israeli army released photos of Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, Shin Bet Director Ronen Bar, and Air Force Commander Tomer Bar as they oversaw the “intense airstrikes on Hamas targets last night from the Air Force operations room.”

Health authorities in Gaza announced that the death toll from the Israeli airstrikes had risen to 354, with more than 440 injuries. Meanwhile, Israel stated that its military campaign would expand “beyond” airstrikes.
