Egypt Daily News – The joint press conference between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and several European leaders emphasized the continued Western support for Kyiv, particularly in the military and logistical fields, while hinting at new sanctions on Russia if it ignores the proposed de-escalation initiative.
Manaf explained that the announced truce, led by the United States and its allies, will go into effect starting next Monday, stressing that it is “unconditional.” Zelensky also emphasized this point and rejected any proposal to establish a buffer zone between the two sides, even if it exceeded 40 kilometers in width.
During the conference, the Ukrainian president pointed out that the Ukrainian front is not as some may imagine, explaining that the geographical proximity between Russian and Ukrainian forces—especially along the banks of the Dnipro River—makes proposals for separation or geographical isolation unrealistic.
