Egypt Daily News – On Thursday, European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell strongly condemned Israel’s decision to revoke the diplomatic status of Norwegian representatives working with the Palestinian Authority.

This development marks a significant diplomatic rift between Norway and Israel.

The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that Israel had informed them it would no longer facilitate the activities of Norwegian diplomats in the occupied Palestinian territories, describing Israel’s actions as “excessive behavior.”

In light of this situation, Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Ede stated that Norway is currently evaluating its response to Israel’s decision.

He emphasized that such actions hinder Norway’s ability to support the Palestinian population and indicated that there would be consequences for Norway’s relationship with Prime Minister Netanyahu’s government.

Ede noted that Norway is in the process of considering various measures to address the implications of Israel’s decision.
