Egypt Daily News – Dr. Maher Namura, spokesman for the Fatah movement, denounced the decision to lift sanctions on Israeli settlers who committed acts of violence against Palestinians in the West Bank, which was taken by US President-elect Donald Trump, along with a number of decisions, immediately after his inauguration yesterday, Monday.

He added in a phone call to Cairo News Channel, today, Tuesday, that “this decision gives legitimacy to right-wing extremist groups,” to carry out more acts of violence against the people of the West Bank, including killing Palestinians, burning and attacking homes.”

He stated that “Netanyahu took advantage of the world’s preoccupation with the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, and threatened the people of the West Bank with a military operation,” stressing the importance of the international community coming together against the extremist Israeli government.

He pointed out that the Israeli occupation authorities arrested hundreds of Palestinians from villages and camps in the West Bank during the recent period, in addition to the arrest of 60 people from the village of Azzun yesterday.
