He noted that the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza has reached unprecedented levels. He also referred to the upcoming conference on the implementation of the two-state solution, jointly planned by France and Saudi Arabia, to be held on June 18 in New York.
He stressed the need for the conference to produce actionable outcomes, foremost among them being recognition of the Palestinian state, to support the Palestinian people’s legitimate rights and to promote peace and stability in the region.
The Foreign Minister strongly rejected proposals for the displacement of Palestinians from Gaza and addressed the increasingly severe situation in the West Bank amid the ongoing Israeli military operations in its towns and villages.
Dr. Abdel Aaty also reaffirmed the importance of ending the occupation and resuming a serious political process to implement the two-state solution and establish a Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders, in accordance with international legitimacy.
