Egypt Daily News – On Tuesday, France voiced strong condemnation of the actions taken by Israeli Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben Gvir, who stormed into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

This act was characterized as a violation of the current historical status of the holy sites in Jerusalem and labeled a “new, unacceptable provocation” by French authorities.

A spokesperson for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the Israeli government to take all necessary steps to uphold the existing historical situation regarding these sacred sites, emphasizing the significant role of Jordan in this context.

Furthermore, France reiterated the urgent need for a two-state solution as vital for achieving peace, which entails the establishment of a sovereign and viable Palestinian state.

The French government also highlighted the necessity for both Israeli and Palestinian political leaders to demonstrate voluntary and courageous commitment toward peace efforts.
