Egypt Daily News – Recent reports on the Israel-Lebanon border indicate that Hezbollah launched several drones toward Western Galilee (again), triggering air raid sirens across multiple Israeli settlements, including Shlomi and Betset.
Israeli defense systems responded by intercepting some of these drones, with three reportedly exploding in the Ayelet Hashahar area.
In the context of ongoing hostilities, Lebanese sources have also stated that approximately 20 missiles were fired from southern Lebanon toward northern Israel.
This increase in military action follows a pre-emptive operation conducted by Israel against Hezbollah, which came after the group vowed retaliation for the assassination of one of its senior leaders, Fouad Shukr, in an Israeli operation last July.
Despite announcements from both Hezbollah and Israeli officials that a previous incident had concluded, cross-border engagements have persisted since early October. Hezbollah has framed their actions as support for Gaza, while Israel has maintained its campaign of airstrikes against targets in Lebanon.
The Israeli newspaper Maariv has reported that the Israeli military is preparing for potential further preemptive strikes against Hezbollah in the week ahead, indicating that tensions may continue to rise in the region.
