Egypt Daily News – The Houthi group “Ansar Allah” vowed on Thursday to respond to the airstrikes that targeted several areas in Sana’a and Saada today, emphasizing its steadfast position regarding Palestine and Lebanon.
The Deputy Head of the Media Authority of the “Ansar Allah” Houthi group, Nasr al-Din Amer, in the group’s first comment on the raids, said that the United States will pay the price for its aggression, emphasizing that “our stance with Palestine and Lebanon will not waver.”
For his part, Houthi Political Bureau member Ali Qahoum said: “We tell the Americans and the British that our capabilities are growing, the response is coming, the target bank is vast, and they should bear the strikes.”
Yemeni media reported early Thursday morning that 15 airstrikes targeted several areas in the capital, Sana’a, and the city of Sa’dah, while Washington announced that it had launched “precision strikes” on Houthi weapon depots.
U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin announced that Washington carried out precise strikes against five underground weapons storage sites in areas controlled by the Houthis in Yemen, noting that facilities containing various weapons used by the Houthis to target ships were targeted.
Austin pointed out that “our strikes targeting Houthi facilities involved B-2 bombers from our air force.”
The U.S. Secretary of Defense said, “We will not hesitate to take any actions to deter attacks and protect freedom of navigation, and the Houthis will face consequences for their illegal and reckless attacks. Our strikes aim to further reduce the Houthis’ ability to continue their destabilizing behavior.”
Sources said tha the United States used B-2 Spirit bombers for the first time to bomb Houthi positions.
