Egypt Daily News – Today, Tuesday, the Sheikh Zayed Misdemeanor Court of Appeal ruled to accept the Public Prosecution’s appeal against the acquittal of Imam Ashour, the Al-Ahly club player, in the incident of his accusation of beating a security personnel in a famous mall in Sheikh Zayed, and ruled that he be imprisoned for 6 months.
The Sheikh Zayed Misdemeanor Court had previously acquitted Imam Ashour, the Al-Ahly club player, in the case of his accusation of beating a security personnel in a famous mall in Sheikh Zayed.
After the acquittal ruling, the Public Prosecution submitted an appeal, which included evidence of the strongest level. The appeal was overflowing with conclusive evidence that the accused committed the crime charged to him through his testimony, witnesses, surveillance machines, video clips, and findings by the investigative authority.
It pointed out that the integrity of the investigation had forced us to dig through the papers in search of a single piece of negative evidence with which the accused would cover up the accusations, but we did not find it.
So we started looking in the papers for the accused’s excuse, that his wife had been subjected to harassment as she allegedly said – but it was full of reasons for aggravation, and since it was The court of first instance acquitted the accused on the charge of battery, and if that ruling was not accepted by the Public Prosecution, the matter would be subject to appeal by way of appeal.
